October update

Here's Chase being a silly boy in his Pack N Play. Today he is 8 months old! Happy birthday, Chase!

   He's back to his happy, playful self these days. He loves to eat real food. After realizing that he can talk, he has been speaking his opinion frequently. It would be great if I could interpret what that opinion is - or just utter some syllables once in a while!

   Though he's still doing an army crawl, I'm sure that soon he will be walking. He takes steps when we hold him up and he can stand unsupported for a few seconds at a time. He can even pull himself to a standing position while I'm trying to wash him in the tub! I'm thinking he will just skip the whole crawling with tummy off ground process.

   School is still chugging along rather well. I feel like I'm in the right place with my life. All I needed was this little bundle of joy to kick me in the butt and help me realize who I am and what I need. I know where my priorities are and for the first time ever, I know I'm where I'm supposed to be.

   On another note, I realized today that I am a different person depending on what bag I carry. This sounds a little funny, but as I was walking out with my book bag this morning, I thought, I'm a student. When I have the diaper bag, I'm mommy. If I leave with nothing then I'm on the way to work, and I'm an unhappy employee. If I ever leave (which is rare) with just my purse, I'm Paige. 

   I'm not too sure I'm happy with that last feeling. Shouldn't I always feel like me? Shouldn't I be me and mommy and a student (and a happy employee)? Maybe I should work on that.

Crawling...Almost!

Chase is this (-) close to crawling. He can hold his weight up on his hands and knees but not quite move yet. I've decided that morning time is the best time with baby. He's so cute in the morning and it makes me sad that I go to work before he wakes up most days. Crawling should come any day now.

We are going to Gran and Pawpaw's house today for some cutie-patootie pictures and hopefully we get some good ones. Will post later

Dove Chocolate Discoveries

   Tonight I went to a Dove Chocolate Discoveries Party. I bought the Mudslide Chocolatini Mix and the Chocolate Baking Mix. My chocolatier was a woman I work with and she does a really good job. We sampled chocolates, dip, fondue, and Chocolatinis. My friend even won a prize! Lucky duck! 

  

   Though my chocolate party was fun, I only got to see Chase for a couple hours while he was awake. He's in bed now and I feel like I haven't seen him for a long time...but I did get an amazing video yesterday. Joe was trying to show me how awesome his ninja skills were by attacking the ottoman and Chase thought it was the funniest thing he had ever seen. I will try to post it soon since I'm having difficulties right now.

Off to Grandma's

Yay! A blog! I was inspired by my good friend Thrifty Redhead to create one and hopefully I can entertain someone on this planet, if not then I'm entertaining myself.

Today we went to Gramma's house and wasted a tasty opportunity to eat at Noodles & Co. Instead we ate at Wendy's so that I could get a Frosty. Bad idea. Now, since I'm craving a Pasta Fresca I'm going to make my own this weekend. Hopefully this will be a good recipe: Pasta Fresca

On another note, Chase is starting to crawl. He can get himself onto his knees and hands, but not without his head glued to the floor. It should happen any day now.
